I was looking at some black friday sales prices, and decided i needed a 32" LCD 720 HDTV that came with a VGA and S-video port. While i could use it as a tv and monitor (my primary reason is to play games on high def), the resolution was very low for my tastes: 1366x768?(720?). It was selling for 500$ on friday. I would like some advice on whether to get this as a multipurpose display, or if i should just plain spend 4-500 on a good LCD monitor and just put a few bucks into a tuner for my PC. I plan on getting either an Nvidia or ATI flagship dx10 card, so a bit higher resolutions than 1280x1024 are important to me, as this is what my CRT currently puts out. If you guys feel like dishing out advice, i'd like you to remove the following biases: Widescreen, size, color, manufacturer (as long as the reviews are good) and have the following biases: High resolution, decent response time, (color pallete?).

I'm sure i could look myself, which i will, but i feel my search will be much narrower than what you guys could help me out with here.

thanks for any help.

If you want to cover all the bases, the best overall use LCD and TV display device would be a 24" LCD monitor + separate TV tuner.

Dell and BenQ have the best-priced ones, but I suggest you wait a couple of months on the BenQ... they are changing the firmware to enable "scaling choices and 1:1 pixel mapping".
