I’ve acquired an IIyama Vision Master Pro 454 (apparently also known as the HM903DT). Seems to be a nice 19 inch CRT with the ultra-flat Trinitron tube. Pictures viewed full screen look great, text is nice and sharp.
However, it's not the easiest beast to set up for gaming. I've been juggling the brightness, contrast and gamma correction on the monitor and the in game brightness setting, but in Call Of Duty I seem to have to decide between washed out exteriors or pitch black interiors. On my previous CRT monitor (which has now died) I was able to get a better balance between the two without any real effort.
The monitor appears to have three modes Text, Picture and Movie. So far I've been slightly surprised that Text seems the best for games, as the other two tend to be rather heavy on the contrast and make any dark areas turn to pitch black.
So any tips on how to set it up for games gratefully received...
