My girlfriend birthday is in couple of weeks and I'd like to give her a laptop for school. Here is think she need to do on it.
1. All Office programs and similar homework software. (I have all software)
2. Wireless internet (WiFi)
3. Solitaire
4. Internal Webcam
5. 15' + screen
6. 2GB+ RAM
As far as I know that's pretty much it. There will be no 3D game playing or anything. Here is what I have in mind and also if there anything really cool for like 550$ I can manage that. So here is 2 things I am looking at. If possible please let me know what you think and may be have something to advice.
I'd say buy the Toshiba, they're usually well built and a good choice for basic multi-tasking. Note that since it has an integrated graphics card you won't be doing much gaming with it, which I think you're ok with it. Also, maybe look at some of the Lenovos, they're amazing machines but a bit expensive
I hope it's okay deal. I had some other selections but this one had color that my girlfriend fill like and performance that I can deal with. Also I'll be installing XP on it and I already got all driver I need to do that (Yes including bluetooth drivers) ...now I wrote that does it have bluetooth at all ? .....
I SAY ASUS F6A-x2 on clearance in best buy stores for 594 but many stores are sold out. I got one!!!! its 13.3 inches, 4 hrs of battery life with minimal power settings, 4gb of ram, windows vista 64bit, lightscribe dvd cd burner, eSTATA...and the newer intel gm45 chipset with 45OO graphics. Built in 1.3 webcam, with face recognition.
This laptop is awesome and perfect for studnets because of battery life, and the smaller screen makes this sooo light weight
u gotta love it
I hate best buy, but this is a good deal
