Toshiba satellite wireless switch

Hello,
I have a toshiba satallite Laptop that will connect to the network and work but will not work on wireless. the different connections do show up in the connection list but when you try to connect to one of them they do not connect.The function F8 key will not turn wireless on or off.
this model does not have a switch or button in the front to activate the wireless

if the different networks show up then the wireless is turned on

are the signals strong enough to connect to?

ideally 4 or 5 bars is what you are looking for

fn + f8 should bring a pop up window to turn the wireless on and off

at least it does in my partners c660
