I just purchased a vx922. I noticed that the refresh rate is stuck at 75hz max on all resolutions. Changing it in window's monitor settings, ati control panel, or reforce to force it at a frequency above 75hz won't actually make my monitor display as such even if the settings seem to work, since the information display on my monitor menu still says Fv 75hz.
I've never seen this before, as previous monitors I've owned would still attempt to display any frequency I wanted, and blackscreen if it cannot display it.
I'm a competitive CS gamer, so I can notice a difference between what would normally seem like a neglidgible change in refresh rate. One of my fellow team members has his LCD displaying at 85hz, yet its responce time is 12ms (according to spec at least).
1sec/0.012sec = 83.33hz.
According to the math, his monitor might change a pixel's color before the previous color change could even finish applying. It probably won't since 12ms is white to black, but it'd be cutting it close.
Since my monitor is 2ms, i was expecting to be able to at least achieve 85hz as well. But some kind of hardware cap is preventing me to go above 75.
The manual clearly says 75 hz max on 1280x1024, and 85hz on any lower resolution, but I run into the same capping problem on lower resolutions as well. Is there any way I can squeeze out that extra 10hz?
