i'm looking at buying a new laptop with blu-ray player. here are the options:
1) Intel 2.0ghz quad core w/ 512 dedicated graphics memory
OR
2) Intel 2.8ghz dual core w/ 1gb dedicated grahics memory

I dont play any games, i just want to watch blu-ray movies FLAWLESSLY and maybe hook it up to a tv once in a while.

any help will be grately appreciated. thanks!

money isnt really an issue. i just want the best performace.

Dual plus a non-piece of **** graphics card should be fine for just watching videos.
Hooking up to TVs should work, again, as long as the video card isnt a piece of ****.

quad laptops?? where from! am I missing something i mean a quad is gotta be like $6000 and comparing it with a dual core is $600

It's not $6000, but Quads as of now are only found in high-end laptops, and usually bump up the cost of the laptop by 400+ bucks.

On the whole, it's kind of useless in a laptop.

Well I know that Alienware laptops utilize Quads...so do some HP high-end series.

Quad core notebooks have been on sale by Sager for a long, long time. Probably over a year.
