This was really an unbalanced review. One of the most important features of this unit is its video upscaling functionality but there was almost no coverage in the review; certainly no technical coverage anyway. All I could find in the review were the following two statements: "...it is able to improve the appearance of a standard DVD for use on a high-definition display by enhancing the video frame by frame before it's outputted to your display (up to 1080p) . It can also upscale compressed video content stored on the hard drive of your computer..." and "My test videos looked crisp and the colors were bright." doesn't cut it for a hardware review site such as Tom's. Where's the beef? I want to know not only technically exactly how it upscales the video, but how well it upscales the video with some kind of examples such as comparing screenshots from the same DVD, or other video source, in standard and upscaled mode. Does this work well enough that I don't have to worry about HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats? Also, how well does it work for other video sources such as compressed video that you mentioned? Too much time was spent complaining about the remote and skipping over the important functions. Sorry to be so negative but this review leaves more questions than answers.
