I was wondering the best way to, both reformat, and reset to facory settings, an Acer Travelmate 2300... I am wanting to sell it, but I want all of my information erased and it restored to the way it was when I bought it... Anyone have any info on this? Thanks!

then buy a windows disk from ebay (either home or pro or vista) it has to be original and the same as what your sticker coa states. then use it to re-install everything

I don't know how to do this to any laptop, hence the query... I am not a pc tech in any sense...

Insert a windows disk, go to the recovery console, and type format C:

if you don't know, you could damage your laptop. can you afford a repair shop?

If I could afford to take it somewhere and have it done, I would do that... Unfortunately, at this time, I can't. I may have to just wait until I can afford it. Thanks!

Or just torrent one. It's much easier. Just remember to get an OEM disc.
