I can't connect to modem. Modem diagnostics indicates modem is operating
fine. When I look at Device Manager, there are no Ports listed and no warning
signs. Only odd thing in Device manager is when I execute Show Hidden
Devices, a yellow exclamation point shows up on serial under no plug and play
adaptors. Which may have nothing to do with the problem. Any suggestions????
Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,

Check to see that the phone line connected properly to the modem and that there is a dialtone in the
line.

The yellow excalmation mark on the serial post under device manager just means that your machine
does not have a serial port. I am running a DELL Inspiron 1100 here and i dont have a serial or
parallel port here. My device manager shows an exclamation mark on parport and serial.
