Monitor Blank

Hi,
I have a problem with my monitor I was hoping someone could help me with. I just moved and when I put my computer back together the monitor was blank. The power light on the monitor goes from orange to blue so I know it is working. I hear windows start up on the computer so I know my computer is working. I tried reseating my video card and the video cable on the monitor's end and the video card's end but no luck. I plugged my monitor into my laptop's external monitor port and tried to switch to the external monitor but it is still blank. I was very careful in not jostling the monitor too much during the move. It is a Video 7 L19PS 19" LCD Display Silver/Black - 500:1, 1280X1024 with speakers monitor which I bought almost 2 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
