hi, i was looking to get a new monitor for my pc which is used mainly for playing games and watching films. i thought about going for a HD television that can be used as a monitor.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE [...] lectronics

is the above any good, and why do HD monitors/ tv's have low resolutions ,1366 x 768 . is resolution not as important because the HD makes the picture sharper? i don't know.

if anybody could comment on this or suggest an even better gaming monitor for my pc that would be great. my budget is about £500

thanks, albo

Not sure what type of panel is on that TV, or what is available in the same size computer monitors. However, you might want to look into getting an LCD monitor and tv tuner (if you need to watch tv) for your computer instead. You'd have a higher quality monitor for computer use then.

Higher resolution LCD panels cost more, so they get away with saying "HD Ready" even though it's only 720P. It's a scam in my opinion.

Like the last dude said, NO WAY I would spend that kinda money on a shi*t 720P LCD TV. You can get a 22 inch LCD monitor with a higher res. and would cost less. Plus you can use LCD monitors as TV's anyways... just use the DVI input. (Make sure your HDTV tuner has a DVI or HDMI out port).
