hello everyone,

I do not have these laptops yet but i am planning on getting one of them.

1)
I would like to know what Acer model laptop this is so it would be easy to me to find drivers for it from the Acer site. I went on the Acer driver download site and I did not know which model to click on.

Is this an Aspire, Extensa or Travelmate series?? Please tell me.

2) I would also like to know what HP model laptop this it too.

is it pavillon? what is it?

Also, which laptop is better? They are both the same price with minor difference. Which should I get? And would I be able to reformat and reinstall Windows with a Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM i got with my desktop computer?

I plan to reformat and reinstall windows vista on it once i get it and from time to time when necessary. That is why I need to know the model and stuff so I can find the drivers after reformat and re-installation.

Thanks a bunch.

The first one is an Aspire 5730-4414.

The Second is a G50-219CA.

If you type either of those models into the respective company's website you can find what you are looking for.

The only difference between the two is that the Acer has an extra gb of RAM, but I think I trust HP's quality more than Acers. Acers feel cheep and plastic to me.

No, don't use that copy of Vista. You generally only get one activation key when you buy windows and if they see that you have two systems running on the same copy of windows, you will run into problems. Just reformat with the windows disks that come with the laptop.

Thanks a lot. And btw, why is the Acer laptop $100 more than the HP one??

No idea. Acer must feel they can charge the extra hundred for the RAM. Different companies, different pricing schemes. I didn't look over the systems with a fine tooth comb so there may be something I'm missing. Honestly, I don't think the extra gb of RAM will do all that much for day to day use.
