I have been looking for a portable TV with an ATSC tuner. I came across the following whitepaper http://www.dvb-h.org/PDF/DigiTAG-DVB-H-Handbook.pdf that says the ATSC standard "does not allow for mobile or portable television reception". I find it hard to believe that the ATSC over looked this market. Does any one know what the technical hurdle is? DVB is the European standard for digital television. They have several flavors DVB-T (terrestrial), DVB-C (cable), DVB-S (satellite), DVB-H (Handheld). Since the EU has separate terrestrial and handheld standards there must be a hurdle.
:?:
I can't speak for the reliability of this TV; I just found the link online myself.
Looks like the real deal: built-in ATSC tuner, portable, "available at most (BestBuy) stores"
Customers reviewed it at 3.9 out of five stars. May just be available in the US.
Does this help?
