Ok, so I'm trying to figure out what 19" I want to get and I've had good luck with Samsung stuff so I was thinking of going with them.(Or maybe ViewSonic) Anyway I saw these 2 Samsung monitors and have no idea what the difference between them is.(Well other than price) So what is the difference between them?
Oh, one other question. When a monitor is targeted at "gamers" what sort of games are they figuring you'd be playing?(Because I'm more interested in good DVD performance and maybe RTS and emulators than FPS so I'm not sure if that changes things or not.)
The 931c has a 2000:1 contrast ratio (which is better) and it has a better (brighter) backlight.
For $10, I'd get the 931c. Plus it's prettier. ;-)
As for the "gamers" crap, it's just that... crap. It's a marketing scheme, don't be fooled. ALWAYS research the specs yourself (response time, contrast ratio, native res., etc).
It says 2000;1 contrast compared to 700;1. The problem I have with this is that a monitor with a 700;1 contrast ratio and a monitor with a 2000;1 can NOT be almost exactly the same price(same brand I might add). I would expect to pay a lot more for the 3x better contrast ratio.

Well, that depends. We already know the 2000:1 number is bogus... the 700:1 could be as good or better if it's "honest".

Well to be fair I kind of got BF and BW mixed up when I first wrote this post Still I don't know, I'm kind of pulled to the 971P since it's supposed to have better picture quality. Still, I figure if I wait until new year there will probably be a few deals on monitors.(You know, after Christmas sales.)
