Dear Madam or Sir,

My name is Ivan Lazarevic. At this point of time I am working in OEM firm which deals with filter
systems
integration. Since our CAD models are large as up to 35000 parts, we felt necessity for strong CAD
station.
Our budget is about 6000EURO (without monitor).
I would be very grateful to receive information about concrete configuration that you
could recommend within limitations mentioned above.

---------------------------------

P.S. From IBM's representative, we received an offer with following characteristics:

2 x 3,06 GHz XEON
2 GB PC2100 RAM
1+2 HDD UW320 (3 x 36 GB)
Extreme 3D Graphics Chip Set: 3Dlabs Wildcat4 7110
DVD-Rom
Keyboard, mouse
XP pro
ibm auth. software

all for 7.500 $.

---------------------------------

With best wishes,

Ivan Lazarevic,

It looks fine to me. It kind of upsets me that those little drives are so expensive and yet IBM chooses them over equally reliable, less epensive parts. But hey, when you're buying a custom configured OEM system you waste a few hundred euros for that stuff, because IBM thinks it's best.
