I'm looking at the HP HDX 18t with the works vs a Clevo M570ETU. One has 18.4"(1920x1080) and 1G 9600GT, other has 17"(1920x1200) and 1G 280M. Price is pretty much equal otherwise. I haven't followed the video card battles for a few years, so is the 280M going to be that much better?

If you are looking to play games, go for the Clevo. It will swamp the HDX in gaming performance. Even with HD movies, the 280M will probably be able to do a better job of keeping the load off the CPU.
