I read some threads, but I wanted to make a new short one. Main points:
My viewsonic 19" CRT G90F has delays/blurriness comparable to LCD response times. In fact, some LCD's may be better.
I own a Hyundai L90D+ 19" 8ms LCD. Looks like the VX922 19" 2-3ms LCD is the best upgrade for the 19" 1280x1024 category.
What about widescreen LCDs (gaming)? It seems cool (___x1080)....is it worth it? Any LCDs better than the L90d+ that are widescreen? Anything that performs better than the L90D+ is obviously good for gaming, this monitor is great but a few years old.
-about what I said about the crts buriness.... wave your hand in front of your face. see the blurriness? Good quality LCD screens may have gotten the response time so low now that we can't really see the difference. Example Vx922? My friend has one, its faster, but not necessarily better image quality. it is not bad though.

Technically, that is not the blurriness that is visible on LCD monitors. The smearing effect that is common on LCDs are when objects are moving fast across the screen and a trail is left behind the image moving across the screen. If you want to see this issue in action, try out the second to last test on this program:
http://tfttest.fromru.com/ You should see a gradient several pixels long from white to black preceding and following the square as it moves. On a CRT, the box is clearly defined with 0 or little trailing. This only shows the black to white and white to black transition and not the thousands of other possible transitions.
