How do I install a third DVD ROM on my computer? I have a CD ROM a CD-RW drive and now I wand a third DVD ROM. The first (CD ROM)is on master, the second (CD-RW) is on slave. Should the third be on Cable Select? What cable should I use?

IDE channels only can support 2 devices per channel. All cable select does is set the drive to master or slave depending on where the drive is plugged in on the cable.

Unless your board supports RAID, you will most likely have to plug the DVD drive in as a slave to the hard drive. Which is probably easiest anyways for your setup.

Actually, I found out that the second or slave channel on the hard drive IDE is connected to another hard drive. So I imagine the best solution is to replace the CD ROM with the DVD ROM which has a max CD speed of 52X. Probably better then the CD ROM that is in there now.
Thanks for the help.

Yeah that is an even better solution, why didn't I think of that?
