DDR2 or DDR (high performance)

hi

just want to know which one is better the ddr2 or the ddr high performance memory ? and can any body tell me the difference ? . and lastly is there any difference between double or single memory ?

DDR2 can reach higher clock speeds, this is why the slowest Jedec specified DDR2 runs at 533Mhz. In contrast, the fastest Jedec specified DDR runs at 400Mhz (although up to 550Mhz is availiable from brands like OCZ, cosair etc.).

However DDR2 has MUCH higher latencies than DDR, this means a 533Mhz stick of DDR2 will be about equivalent in speed to a 433Mhz stick of DDR.

Also only P4 boards based on the new socket can use DDR2, AMD will not use it till next year and I dont think Intel are going to let it be used on any socket478 boards.

Are you refferring to single and double sided memory?
