Im looking at picking up a 24" or so monitor when I build a new system in a month or so.... But, from reading other threads, I dont know if its a good idea, due to a higher refresh rate listed on the product specs... Now, Im not an extreme gamer, but I do play games every now and again... Mostly warcraft, and occasionally I throw on a RTS or FPS.... I also watch movies and stuff on it...

Any suggestions on what to get? Is 24" really the way to go?

I'd recommend these two:

I've never seen the BenQ in action, but it has some great features. The Dell is considered to be by many folks the best 24 incher out there.

Both are similarly priced. I wouldn't pay over $800 for any 24 inch these days.

Those are the two Ive been looking at. Although, the refresh is quite slower than smaller LCDs. Is that going to be a problem when playing games?

24" displays take one hell of alot of gfx power to run. as far as refresh rates foes, are you meaning latencies or actual refresh rates. the latter cannot really be applied to LCD's. as far as latency goes even my now relatively old 2405(still great) has according to dell a 16ms Black to black although it is really 20's i think and i notice very little if any ghosting and certainly none in games, maybe i f i look closely at the screen at my cursor i might see some if the background is dark but thats it.

still, if you have the cash and the system to play it then i say go for it. i have not seen the 2407 but i hear it is just as good as my own which is very good.
