I want to buy a monitor mainly for gaming and I'm considering one of the new 22'' 6-bit TN panels like the Asus MW221U.
2ms response time sounds great of course but I am worried these overdrive panels have significant input lag. Has anyone measured / or does anyone have the opportunity to measure the input latency on any of these panels especially the Asus MW221U? As the manufacturers do not disclose this info I would really appreciate some help from the community on this issue. Thanks people.
There have been reports of input lag on certain 24"ers, but haven't heard of that on 22". The overdrive issues have to do more with "after images, twinkling, and artifacts".... residue when changing images.

Hose, what is the "twikling" effect that I hear mentioned sometime? It seems reviewers sometimes mention it but absolutely never explain what it is is (how in the world are people supposed to know what it means if no hardware review site anywhere on the net will tell what it is? ). I'm not referring to you, of course, but the lack of info from review sites.
Personally, I know of two issues:
1. In video, sometimes you get the effect where pixels shift left and right even while the video is paused. However, this can be solved by simply forcing the video not to go directly to the monitor, but go through the graphics in the OS or whatever the process is called. Quick Time files always do this, windows media player can be set to do this. I have doubts about DVD though. I don't know if the DivX player has such a setting.
2. One problem with overdrive/underdrive can be if the manufacturer sets it too aggressively so that it overshoots the color it is aiming for resulting in a weird different color showing up around the movement.
