i just got a dell xps m1710, its nto here yet but i just realized i never checked the refresh rate on it, i cant find any info on it on the site.

anyone know what a good refresh rate is that wont give you any blurring problems when playing games? since thats all im using it on.

also anyone know what the rate is for that laptop? its their 17 inch ultrasharp wide screen UXGA display with truelife

Anything less than 8ms is good.

I do not recall much ghosting on laptop screens... and it's not like you're going to replace it if sucks.

LCD screens can't be described using refresh rates. basically that is all you need to know. setting a refresh rate is only useful for v-sync purposes. if you need to know more do a search as this has been discussed so many times it hurts.

sorry i mean response time, or whatever you want to call it.. and yes they should be measured in it because a slow one gives you motion blur, ive seen it
