Hey all, my xp m1710 finnaly died on me earlier this week, and im going to be in the market for a new gaming laptop. The following is from the FAQ and then a few questions about present market laptops, thanks:

1_What is your budget?

~1300-1400

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

17 inch

3_What screen resolution do you want?

1900x1200

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

desktop replacement

5_How much battery life do you need?

dont really matter somewhere around 2 hours

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

high, WoW, diablo3 and starcraft 2 when released, possible dx 10 games such as crisis

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

~200g -250g

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?

~2-3 years

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.

Looking for a well known company with good support

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

no compaq/gateway bad expeirences,

sager,dell, alienware, ect

13_What country do you live in?

I was looking over other posts on the forums and other people with similar financial means where being suggested was a Sager5793.
Xotic pc has them for a good price, i was wondering if the $100 price difference between the ~Intel® T6400 45nm Core™2 Duo 2.0GHz w/2MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB 35W and the
~Intel® T8100 45nm "Penryn" Core™2 Duo 2.1GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB ( + 105 )

Any other suggestions on laptops to look at?

You may want to think about upgrading the processor, yes. The difference won't be too great, but it may save you from a CPU bottleneck.
