I would like to purchase a new monitor/upgrade from what I have right now (19' crt viewsonic). This will be the first of my new system pieces. I basically watch movies that I've dowloaded, surf the internet, and occasionally watch dvd movies from my system. I'm looking to get something in the 40'+ (LCD/plama) range or close to. In my current system, I currently have an analog output for my monitor, but I plan to upgrade my whole system within the next few months including a high resolution video card that has a digital output.

Will a plasma be suffice for what I do?

Or will a LCD be more beneficial?

Am I really going to be able to use 1080p resolution for what I do?

It's not going to matter at that size because TV resolutions suck compared to computer monitors. Your best bet is to get the apple 30" or a dell 30" or the viewsonic 30". It won't matter about 1080p or 1080i because computer monitors have much higher resolutions.

Plasma - yes for watching TV, no for a computer monitor.

Last question - No.

Oh, and video card won't matter because they all have digital output now and they are all high resolution...
