After installing Windows XP Home (with Service Packs 1 & 2) it disabled my
Outlook & Outlook Express. When I try to open either program, a message
states that it is an out-of-date version, then the windows installer comes
up, then an error saying it cannot find 'omint.dll' cannot be found. I have
tried to reinstall Outlook from XP, then from Office 2003 disks (original and
a second copy with service packs), but I cannot get installer to install the
programs. Any help??

Hi Davidnitram,

Try renaming the Outllib.dll file to something like Outllib.old prior to
reinstalling Outlook. The default location for the Outllib.dll file is
Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX folder (the XX will be a numeric
value).

Regards,

Thank you for the refrence back to the prior articles. I have reviewed them
and it seems that there is not a clear, concise answer on how to fix. It
certainly is bizzare. I mean, it's MS own products. The frustrating part is
that it won't reinstall or locate the missing file off the original CD. I
really don't want to spend $300+ on the XP version of Office when I have a
perfectly fine Office Pro version (with the email exception of course).
Thanks I'll try some different aspects from the thread and let you know.
