Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with refurbished Dells? I don't care if they have scratches and dents as long as the price is good.

Also, when is the best time to buy a refurbished Dell? My guess is that Christmas returns mean a lot of used desktops to choose from. Should I wait a couple of weeks to get the possible selection?

Yes, I would wait until after the new year to get the best selection.

The comp I am currently running is a refurbished Dimension 4700. The computer came in perfect condition with no scratches or dents and everything working. It has been working for close to 1.5 years, though I am currently working on upgrading it.

I recieved the following in my system for about 600 USD:
Stock P4 @ 2.8 ghz
Intel i915g mobo
80 gb Western Digital 7200 rpm hdd
1 gb DDR2 400 mhz ram
ATi X300 (upgrading soon)
Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 bit (upgraded to Audigy 2ZS)
305 watt psu (soon to be upgraded)

All in all, not too bad.
My Dell in my sig was bought new.
