About 18 months ago I bought a CMV CT-722A 17" LCD monitor, and it has performed flawlessly all that time.

Then a couple of days ago I came home after not using it for 5 days to find parts of the screen were slightly blurred. Using the auto adjust only serves to move the problem from one part of the screen to another.

When I click "Start" then "Shut Down" (I'm running windows) the shimmer/flicker becomes highly noticable.

Can anyone help me here? Is there some trick to fix the problem, or am I looking at a new monitor already?
