Dolby 5.1 performance loss??

im getting a 5.1 surround sound card and i just wanna know weather using 5.1 instead of stereo will slow games down?
i'm gonna get Doom 3 and Uru (both games should be great with 5.1) and as Doom 3 is a heafty resource eater i wanna know what sort of performance loss i should expect.

(note: i dont have the Creative Audigy 2ZS [in my sig] installed yet!)

I don't think you are going to notice any performance differance at all.

what about if EAX is enabled? (im sure i read somewhere that EAX uses some CPU time).

Its handled by the sound card i think...
