I'm considering purchasing a new laptop. Does a graphic card matter if I am not a gamer?

If you are just into MS Office applications, movie watching and web surfing, nothing more than integrated graphics are needed. This will also come in handy with battery life, as systems with dedicated video cards tend to eat batteries for breakfast.
