Hi, just last night my raptor started getting really loud. It literally sounds like a vaccum at times. If I turn the computer off though (overnight) when I boot up it doesn't do it, but if I reboot then it starts up again. Should I RMA the drive or is this common?

AMD 64 3400+
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1 GB Kingston HyperX PC3200
ATI AIW 9600XT
WD Raptor 74GB

How loud, is "loud"? My drive doesn't really make any noise, you can hear it spinning, but you would really have to be listening to hear it.

Probably needs the blades balanced..

I think I would RMA the drive, I have never heard a raptor drive do that. Backing up your data as soon as possible is recommended.
