I just finnished replacing the power jack(thanks to the help here), and put in a new keyboard. While the keyboard was off I see the 256megs of ram in a slot under the keyboard, can I add a 1g to this slot too?

Yes, you can. Buy memory where you can try it if possible or get known compatible ram, this laptops are picky on ram.

Thanks, next time I open it up ill swap the 1G chip with the 256m and write down the chip info, thanks!
