Ok I was having some problems with my computer screen refreshing a lot and/or locking up and/or just shutting off (not my monitor btw). So I tested a different monitor, a different harddrive, and a different video card to see if one of those was the problem. Well it still did the same thing and the screen would shut off/lockup after a few minutes of running it.

I ended up buying a new motherboard but it looks like I should have tested the memory first b/c its still doing it after installing the new motherboard (and a new powersupply). Can bad memory cause my problems?

Bad RAM can cause a ton of different problems. Should have done the memtest86 but do that when you get the new mobo or right now on the current mobo.
