Hi,

I am considering upgrading my 17in LCD Planar to a 19inch model. I had one question regarding native resolution and size/scaling.

"If an object is 1 inch high on my 17inch at 1280 x 1024 will it be the same height if I switch to a 19 inch at 1280 x 1024??"

Might sound like a dumb question - but I am trying to see if the object would appear bigger on a 19 inch but with the same quality. I only play on native resolutions so it's an important consideration.

Thanks-jg1234

Yes, it would appear bigger. The number of pixels are the same between 17-inch and 19-inch monitors that are both on the 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) resolution. The difference is that each pixel is bigger on a 19-inch, being 0.294 mm on a side instead of 0.264 mm on a side for a 17-inch (if I remember right). So an object 1 inch high on a 17-inch would be 1 2/17 inches high on a 19 inch.

Chuck,

Thanks very much - I thought that might be the case. I didn't realize the Pixel's themselves were bigger.
