i have the Dell Dimension 8400 but i don't know an awful lot so please forgive me, i hav 512 ram isit possible to add a 1GB 240Pin 533 DDR2 RAM DIMM 1.8V in the black slots of my hardrive? thank you. :!:

no it is not possible. only the new generation of dell's may support ddr2.
your system is quite a few years old. it may only support ddr ram

Nope. My Dimension 8400 from 2 years ago has DDR2 memory. If it's older than that you may be right, but if it's newer or same age it should have DDR2. Just download CPUZ from www.cpuid.com. It will tell you about your motherboard and ram.

oh shoot, my bad. Its just i had two 8400 dimensionis a while ago, they only had ddr. well then there should be no problem in putting the 1gb ddr2 ram then. hope the ram satisfies. =]
