I just ordered a HP550 Celeron. It comes with Windows Vista Home Basic. CAN I upgrade it to the 64 bit Ultimate?

Not sure which Celeron yours came with, but both the Celeron M 530 and Celeron 1400 (DC) offered in the notebook use Intel's EM64T and thus a 64-bit OS can be used.

Thanks. Ijust bought the HP 550 Celeron 550 from TigerDirect for ~ $400 and haven't received it yet but am planning for the future. ( And hoping for a free upgrade to Windows 7)

It should work, but you may want to consider adding some more RAM to help it along.
