Hi, I want to put together a notebook and are currently deciding on what parts to use. I have a question regarding the harddisk:
I want to use <A HREF="http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/hgst/?epi_menuItemID=1ae1841f0c9f113aa5a8f2b6aac4f0a0&epi_menuID=0f34be57a7adb6fd25ad4e8060e4f0a0&epi_baseMenuID=22f0deefa8f3967dafa0466460e4f0a0" target="_new">Hitachi Travelstar 7K60</A> 7200rpm disk which uses the ata-6 133 interface. I want to put it in the <A HREF="http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?MenuID=18&LanID=0&DetailID=404&DetailName=Specification" target="_new">Elitegroup G556e</A> notebook which only seem to support 66/100 interface. I know that this disk has been used in this notebook without problems before, but will I loose the benefit of having a 7200rpm disk when the interface is only 100?

Realistically you aren't going to notice any performance difference between ATA 100, and ATA 133.

Check out StorageReview for hard drive benchmarks. You will see that there is no real performance differance between the two.
