I just RMA'd my Sceptre due to a blank display on ALL connector ports. 
Apparently, there are mixed reviews over at Newegg.com. The main issue is defective DVI ports after only a few weeks of use. So this monitor would be a bit of a gamble to purchase in my honest opinion. As far as cabling is concerned, a Male/Male approach is where you want to be. Make sure you purchase a SEPERATE, good quality DVI cable that is DUAL LINK, and NOT the crappy inbox one!!! Many many complaints on that one
