I'm buying a new comp+monitor this weekend and i've got the comp parts done but i'm still undecided about the monitor i'm getting. Basically i want a monitor that works well with movies and strategy games, i've narrowed it down to 7 choices. Oh and i have about $250 bucks (canadian) left
Oh and heres a few questions
1) how big of a difference does dvi and analog make & at what point would i probably see the difference? ie. in gaming
2)What effect does wide-screen have in accordance to games/movies and should i get one with 1280x1024(square) or 1440x900(wide-screen)
3)should I worry more about contrast ratio or response time and what would i be doing to have to care about contrast ratio/ response time?
SO here are my picks and their specs w=widescreen
1)Acer AL1916W Ab Black 19in WS 700:1 5ms 1440x900 $217(non dvi)
2)LG L1952T Silver 19in 1600:1 8ms 1280x1024 DVI $247
3)Samsung 940BW 19in WS 500:1 4ms 1440x900 DVI $235
4)Acer 19" AL1916WASD 1440X900 700:1 5ms SL DVI $232
5)LG 19" L1952TX-BF BK 1280x1024 1400:1 8MS DVI $259
6)BenQ 19" FP93GX 1280x1024 700:1 2ms BLACK DVI $259
7)LG 19" L194WTX-BF BK 1440x900 2000:1 5MS DVI $253
so looking at all this, what do you think i should go for?
