Hi.

I am planning to buy a new harddrive for my computer.
I have trouble choosing between DiamondMax 10 and MaXLineT III.

Whats the difference between these discs?

On Maxtor's web-page they write that DiamondMax 10 is for desktop use and MaXLineT III drives is for midline and nearline enterprise applications...

Does this mean any differences in speed or reliability, or is it something else that separates these drives?

Greetings from Norway

Reliability is about the only difference. They put a 5 year warranty on them and build them to 1 million hours mean time to failure specification. Alternatively you could just get a raptor which has the same warranty and 1 millions hour MTBF spec but is a much faster drive. Unless you needed a 250MB drive of course. Storagereview did a review on the Maxline III drives here
