Something is blocking my sim card slot.

I have had my Motorola XOOM for about 9 months and until now it has been okay. Yesterday I removed the sim card to access the sd slot but when I tried to reinsert the sim it stopped about half way. What can I do to get the sim back in?

Install it the right way. Is it upside down or backwards?
