my question is can i use my 512 mb (2X256) with 1 gig(2X512) memmory or i only can use either 512 or 1 gig.

my comp spec is

Try this: Slot 1 - 512mb stick
Slot 2 - 256mb stick
Slot 3 - 512mb stick
Slot 4 - 256mb stick

Up your Vdimm to 2.7v and see what happens.

I'd try the 512's by themselves in slots 1 and 3, if it boots OK then raise the vDimm to 2.7v like craig said, turn it off, and add the other two DIMMs to slots 2 and 4.

At this level if you dont have any output on your screan its not OS dependent, make sure your using the latest bios and you can try reseting your Cmos.

Altough not likely your memory might not like higher Vdimm...
