So of course, Apple gets all the press again, thanks to some modder named Eddie Zarick replacing the older-generation Macbook's Apple logo with the LCD. The trick was accomplished by:
-Cannibalizing a 4.3" display for parts
-Cramming them behind the Macbook display, so that any image on the display shines through the hole of the logo
-And hooking the display directly into the Macbook USB controller (rendering one external USB port non-functional in the process)
The mini-LCD appears as a secondary screen, allowing users to show any image (or even video) on the display and through the logo hole.
Details and pics here. This should be possible for PC laptops, in particular Dells, since it's easy to make holes out of their circular laptop logos.
Which laptop would you like to see with this mod? Let's steal some of Apple's thunder!
