Hi,
a month ago i purchased a lite-on 832s dvd burner and now after reading toms review on the DVR-108 i am thinking of already upgrading. lets assume that money isnt an issue...
would it be a good trade? a 832s for a DVR-108 ? the only serious advantage is the dual layer burning speed. what do u guys think?

If you regularly burn Dual Layer media and have good quality Dual Layer media that can handle 4x burning speed, then it's not a bad upgrade.

besides the dual layer burning speed advantage is it safe to say that both drives are pretty equal more or less in the other feilds?
whats the next speed we should be seeing in dual layer burning and when should we expect seeing them come?
or is there any new burners around the corner that will be much better?

16x buring will save you 2 min burning time comapred to 8x, but there's very few 16x media available. And Pioneer drive may have slighltly better read speed (16x vs. 12x)

I think Dual Layer -R capable burners will be a good upgrade. But for regular burning of dual layer +R media at 4x, this is a good upgrade too, if you can sell your current drive for a decent price
