Tungsten C MAC address changed

The device initially had the MAC address printed on the back of the case,
now it is different.

- How did the address get changed? It appears to be the same now as has
been mentioned by at least one other user; I assume it's a default
address used for testing after manufacture.

- Is there any know way to reset the address to the one that it is
supposed to be?

As long as it is in this state, I can't upgrade the firmware, which
upgrade is supposed to fix some wireless connectivity issue the device
has currently.

I've checked the PalmOne site docs, and emailed PalmOne support; they
don't seem to be forthcoming with either cause or cure.

TIA

That's odd, since their own documentation specifically says this can
happen and says that, if it does, you should contact their support
people. Here's the page where it says that:

http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/tungstenc/t...

And the wording is:

Ensure that your Tungsten C handheld has the same MAC address as the
one located on the rear of the unit by following these steps:
. . .
e. If the MAC Address does not match the MAC label on the rear of the
handheld, contact palmOne Customer Support. DO NOT continue to step 3.

Seems odd that they wouldn't know what to do next after you call them
just exactly as they asked you to. Have you tried quoting their own
documentation at them?

That's when I stopped and contacted them.
