I just got a Lenovo T500 laptop which has a strange architecture in it. It has dual video cards. One is a ATI and the other an Intel. The Intel is supposed to be a low power, low performance card to save on battery. I have disabled this card as I do not wish to use it.
However I want to have 3 DVI monitors when attached to the docking station. It seems when I attach the docking station it disables ALL internal video cards and uses only the PCIe card that is in the docking station which is also an ATI.
My question is, how can I enable the ATI in the laptop along with the PCIe in order to have 3 monitors running. There are two DVI ports on the PCIe and one passthrough DVI on the docking station for the laptop internal ATI.
The laptop is running Vista ultimate.
As an alternative I am thinking of sticking an Nvidia quadro into the docking station that supports up to 4 monitors in the dock even though it's not officially supported by Lenovo/IBM. Would this work or will I have driver conflicts since the video cards are two different manufacturers.
Thanks,
Paul
