i was wondering if it is ok to install video games on your laptop. because i was told that installing games on your laptop is not recommended, i don't know why its not recommended but i do want to find out

Depends. Video games will run fine if you have a good laptop. As a matter of fact i play professionally on my laptop all the time.

You need a good enough laptop, with a discreet video card. Recommended is a nvidia 9600 + for first person shooters like call of duty series. And if you want crysis you better get a laptop with a 280m in it.

theres no reason it would inherently hurt your system. The only problems could be either
1- it will run like utter crap
2- it will overheat the hell outa your laptop
