I need to decide between the Samsung 712N and the new 730b/930b.
I do photography and gaming.
Samsung 712N: Pro's:8-bit 16.7 million colors 12ms
730b/930b Pro's 8ms responce. DVI! Cons:6-bit 16.2 mil colors.
I also heard that 6-bit is actually 200k colors but Samsung somehow interpolates in to 16.2 mil. The interpolation is not as real as "real life". So I'm thinking that for photography this would not be a good buy. The only way I would buy it is if someone knows something that I don't and thinks that the color representation of photo's and videos would be ok. If the color representation of the 712N is better then I want to go with that. (Price in this case does not matter) the 712 and 730b are similarly priced.
Well, you could also look into the Viewsonic VP191b (latest version) which incorporates 8bit color and 8ms refresh rates...supposed to be great for games/video. www.behardware.com did a glowing review of it here is the link http://www.behardware.com/articles/563/page1.html.
Also, in a couple of months, samsung will release the 193p+ which is also an 8bit panel with 8ms refresh rate....(seems like it may be the same panel as the above mentioned viewsonic..but not sure).
I am looking to buy the 193P becasue of the rave reviews on its quality image and i love it for its looks and functions also...
I understude that the 20 ms it offered was the best 20 ms on avaialbe... so i have been serierously considering it.
will it be in the same type of display? pivot, great body...etc?
