Hello, I'm looking for a $1000-1500 laptop with a 16-18" screen, decent Intel dual core, 7200rpm HD and a decent GPU (ie: something around a 9800m or 4850)...99% of laptops you'd pick up at a store even if $1000+ usually have garbage GPU's, like an HD 3450 or Gefore 9200m....

I've found these two, but can't seem to find anywhere to buy them online in Canada...and the only stores anywhere near my house that sell laptops are Staples, FutureShop and RadioShack....and they all have garbage :(.

Maybe you've tried this, but newegg.ca? They don't the exact models you're looking for, but maybe you can find something similar? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 2&name=MSI

Sorry I'm looking for exact models, and newegg.ca/ncix don't have much.

I'd be interested in an equivalent, but that would be a 17" laptop with something like a 9800M GT or 4850....I may settle for a 9700M GTS or a 3870, but definitely not a 9600M GT or a 3850 or anything worse than those.

Sorry man, tried looking around as well, and like you, I came up empty. I'm keep on looking in my spare time, and I'll share what I find.

But can't you go a bit farther than your area? Perhaps another store in Canada has better options?

And I'm also wondering: are US warranties honored in Canada or something? Was thinking you could just have someone buy in the Us, then rely on local support in case anything goes wrong. Just my $0.02.
