i am new to windows 7...i just found out i have a c and d drive...c drive stores system stuff. d is data. my problem is i download lots of webpages, etc...they go to the c drive and its full now...am i suppose to be downloading to d drive instead? and how do i do that. I only want the system stuff on c drive.

also when i make a document, text etc file and save it. I see the file and a folder for that file. xp wasn't like that. It hid the folder. I don't want to see that. Is there a way to make that hidden so i only see the file. Thanks

You don't really need a D drive, it is only useful if you want to re-install Windows and keep your data separate. Provided you can backup your essential stuff to an external device, you can safely do away with D and expand C into the space
I would recommend EaseUs Partition Master as it's free and easy to use

You can protect others from seeing your Document Folder with a password
