1_What is your budget?

No more than $2000 (AUD)

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

Either 15.4" or 17"

3_What screen resolution do you want?

As high as possible - I'd like good graphics for my game.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

Desktop replacement, but I would like to take it out of the room sometimes, so it needs to have an element of portability.

5_How much battery life do you need?

Doesn't matter, I usually keep it on power.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Sims 2 - non-laggy, as I play a lot of this when the time presents itself and it's the only game I play

Would also like to know which computers would be compatible with Sims 3 if anyone knows (though this is not too crucial in my choice of laptop)

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)

All of the above and basic office capabilities, but it needs to be able to multitask.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

More than 160BG but less than 500GB.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.

http://www.msy.com.au/ (looking at the HP DV51139TX)
dell.com.au

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?

At least three years

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.

The three things I value most about a laptop are
- Fast speed (booting up, loading programs and webpages etc.)
- Good graphics (particularly for my game)
- Good sound (for music/DVDs)

I'd also like to know more about Dell computers in comparison to other brands - are they the better/cheaper choice? Are they easy to repair if needed?

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

Like: Sony, HP, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu (last laptop was a Fujitsu and though I enjoyed it, I'd prefer to try a new brand)
Dislike: Compaq and Acer (had both before, would prefer something different)

13_What country do you live in?

Australia
